Ernest R.
Kelsch, 80, passed away Wednesday (July 9, 2008) at Golden Living Care Center
in Marion.
He was born
Dec. 4, 1927, at Wakeeny to Rudolph and Charolette (McKinley) Kelsch. They
preceded him in death.
He joined
the U.S. Navy right out of high school and proudly served during World War II,
Korea and Vietnam.
When he
retired from the Navy, he moved to Newton to be close to family.
Ernest was a
member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both of Newton.
He is
survived by a son, Troy Banister Kelsch; and a sister, Nathalee (Kelsch) Roth
of Salina.
He also was
preceded in death by two brothers, Dwain J. Kelsch and Myron D. Kelsch.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Graveside
service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the Marion Golden Age Home Activities Fund in care
of the funeral home.
