Jeremy John
Solomon, 28, died Thursday (July 10, 2008) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
He was born
was born March 2, 1980, in Wichita to Joseph and Michelle (Perley) Solomon.
They survive of Newton.
He was a
lifelong Newton resident. He attended Potwin Christian Church in Potwin.
He was a
1998 graduate of Newton High School and a 2000 graduate of Butler County
Community College, where he earned his associate of arts degree in communications.
While in school, he worked at the college radio station.
Jeremy had a
love of music and was in the school jazz band and was involved with vocal
music. He also was a member of the band Red Letter. He recently performed solo
at the Harvey County Relay for Life.
He was the
rental manager for Conklin Cars in Newton. He enjoyed working out and trout
fishing.
Jeremy had a
great love for his son and best friend, Gabe, and looked forward to spending
time with him and being involved in all his activities. He also had a special
bond with his grandfather John 'Pop' Perley, who was his best bud. Jeremy great
looked forward to time with his friends and loving family.
He also is
survived by his son, Gabriel Solomon of Newton; sister, Jessica and Jeremy
LeDuc of Newton; niece, Jaylynn LeDuc of Newton; companion, Missy Summers of
Wichita; paternal grandmother, Bettie Sue Davis of El Dorado Springs, Mo.;
maternal grandparents, John and Bonnie Perley of Newton; and several aunts and
uncles.
He was
preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Art Davis.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family
receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral
service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with Pastor
Steve Bowman of Potwin Christian Church officiating.
Burial will
be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the Gabriel Solomon Education Fund in care of the
funeral home.
