Helen Maxine
(Taylor) Auernheimer died Sunday (July 13, 2008) at Newton Medical Center in
Newton. She was 86.
Mrs.
Auernheimer was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Augusta to Thomas William and Una May
(Patterson) Taylor. She was a graduate of Augusta High School.
On June 8,
1941, she married Edgar 'Ed' Willis Auernheimer in Augusta. He survives.
She worked
in housekeeping at Presbyterian Manor in Newton for many years.
She also is
survived by five children, Lynn Auernheimer (and Maxine O'Neill) of Canton,
Cheryl Hoffman of Carlsbad, Calif., Carol Gibbens of Halstead, Joan Jacobsen of
Newton and Anthony 'Tony' (and Audrey) Auernheimer of Salina; two
granddaughters, Terri Schyrock of Wichita and Vickie Hiebert of Goessel; four grandsons,
Scot Gibbens of Newton, Jason Gibbens of Apex, N.C., Allan Gibbens of Newton
and Adam Auernheimer of Salina; one stepgrandson, Jack Lyon of Goessel; three
stepgranddaughters, Kellie Holland of Derby, Jamie Remsberg of Newton and
Jadlyn O'Neill of Canton; three great-grandchildren, Brian, Ashley and Kendall
Hiebert of Goessel; and three step-greatgrandchildren, Kadin, Maggie and Jonah
Remsberg of Newton.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Juanita Malan, Lorene Powers,
Rosalie Powers, Sarah June Taylor and Norma Jean Taylor; and brothers, George
Taylor and Thomas L. Taylor.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel, with
family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral
service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Goessel Mennonite Church in Goessel.
Burial will be at the Hesston City Cemetery in Hesston.

contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of the funeral
home.
