Beverly
Unruh, 75, of North Newton, passed away Monday (July 14, 2008) at Harry Hynes
Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
She was born
Nov. 1, 1932, in Newton to Cornelius N. 'C.N.' and Edna (Harms) Riesen. They
preceded her in death.
On June 4,
1954, she married Marvin John Unruh at First Mennonite Church in Newton. He
survives of the home.
Beverly was
an active member of Faith Mennonite Church in Newton, where she has attended
since 1977.
She worked
in the offices at Chevrolet Co. and Bethel Home for the Aged. From 1964 to
1978, she owned and operated Norge Laundry and Cleaners along with her husband.
Beverly also worked for many years as the receptionist at Kidron Bethel in
North Newton. She retired in 1997.
She greatly
enjoyed coffee time with her friends and visitors and cards from her friends
and family. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family,
and especially her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
Other
survivors include daughter, Karen and Lynn Loucks of North Newton; son, Brian
Unruh of Wichita; granddaughter, Michelle Jan Dyck; grandson, Aaron James Dyck;
and sister, Mildred and Don Franz of Wichita.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family
greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Graveside
service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, followed
by funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Faith Mennonite Church in Newton, with
Pastor Gordon Smith of the church officiating.
Memorial
contributions may be made to Victory in the Valley, Kidron Bethel Village or
the Faith Mennonite Piano Fund in care of the funeral home.
