The following first appeared in the Halstead Independent, May 23, 1918

Died: Elizabeth Ferguson at home on the corner of Main and Third where she had been operating a boarding house with the assistance of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Robertson. Born Elizabeth K. Clem Indiana, 1841. Survivors children D.E. Clark, Leonidas Ferguson, Mrs. R.A. Adamson, Mrs. J.R. Robertson, Mrs. R.H. Pearson and several stepchildren. Funeral at home. Burial Halstead.
