Marjorie M. Pierce
Marjorie M. Pierce, 89,
formerly of McPherson and Newton, passed away Sunday (June 8, 2008) at her home
in Houston. She was born March 22, 1919, in Grenola, the daughter of Morris W.
and Margaret E. (Schul) Bowers. She graduated from McPherson High School in
1936 and attended McPherson college. She married Dwight J. Pierce on Sept. 7,
1941, in McPherson. He died Oct. 13, 2005. She was a homemaker and retired
bookkeeper for Kansas Christian Home in Newton and Reimer Ford auto dealership
in McPherson.
She was a member of First
Christian Church and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, both in McPherson.
Survivors include daughter,
Suzanne Kaliszewski of Houston; sons, Dwight J. Pierce of Wichita and Charles
Pierce of Fort Collins, Colo; seven grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
three sisters, Bonnie Jean Marston, Corrine Wiggins and Lucille Rock.
Visitation will be from 3 to
7 p.m. Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut in McPherson,
with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at
10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chuck Kaliszewski
officiating.
Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery.

made to First Christian Church, Memorial Home Auxiliary or Jesus Hour
Ministries in care of the funeral home.
