Harry W. Stahl
Harry W. Stahl, 88, died
Tuesday (June 24, 2008) at Memorial Home in Moundridge. He was born July 16,
1919, in Newton to William F. and Mary (Scheffler) Stahl. He married Elizabeth
Clothier on Aug. 23, 1952, in Newton. She preceded him in death April 10, 2006.
Harry enjoyed being outdoors where he could hunt, fish and trap. He also
enjoyed working with his hands in his woodworking shop. After he retired from
Holsteins Chevrolet as a custodian, he liked to spend many hours in in his
woodworking shop, making many handcrafted wood projects. He loved to grow
produce in his garden and could be seen selling fresh produce at the local
Newton Farmer's Market.
He is survived by his
brother, Carl Stahl of Newton; three sisters, Ella Janzen, Alice Schmidt and
Clara Ortman, all of Moundridge; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; his loving wife, Elizabeth; and two brothers, August and Elmer
Stahl.
Visitation will be from 1 to
8 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, with family present
to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at
1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
