Kenneth V. 'Kenny' McClure
Kenneth V. 'Kenny' McClure,
87, passed away Friday (May 30, 2008) at Buhler Sunshine Home in Buhler. He was
born Jan. 7, 1921, in Walton, the son of Norvie and Evelyn Eberly McClure. He
graduated from Newton High School in 1940. He entered the U. S. Army on July 1,
1942; he served in the Pacific and was discharged on Nov. 2, 1945. He was
employed by Seacat's for many years and retired; he became head maintenance
engineer for the Emporia school district and retired from there; he then was
employed at the Lyon County Court House as custodian and retired from there. He
was a resident for Emporia for 50 years and for the last several years lived in
Hutchinson and Buhler.
He is survived by two sons,
Ronald McClure and his wife, Kathleen, of Buhler and Cecil McClure and his
wife, Marjorie, of Elkin, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
a brother, Gerald McClure and his wife, Elvera, of Hutchinson; and a sister,
Agnes Terry and her husband, Wally, of Hesston.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; two brothers, Lee and Bob McClure; and a sister, Gladine Smith.
All services will be private.
