Clifford Jule Roberts
Clifford Jule Roberts, 77,
passed away Wednesday (June 11, 2008) at Asbury Park in Newton. Cliff was born
Aug. 11, 1930, in Peabody. He graduated from Burns High School in 1948. He retired
from the Marion County Road and Bridge Department. Cliff was an avid sports
fan. He especially enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and The
University of Kansas Jayhawks. He loved to fish and tell stories around the
campfire. Survivors include his four children, Gary Roberts and wife, Diana, of
Conway, Ark., Charney Price and husband, David, of Newton, Wanda Lambert and
husband, Wendel, of Ulysses, and Galen Roberts and wife, Greta, of Bonne Terre,
Mo. Other survivors include sisters, Bonnie Richards and Betty Wagoner, both of
El Dorado, and sister Doris Guggisberg and husband, Carl of Lawrence. Cliff has
nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Jule and Tina Roberts.
Visitation will be from 5 to
8 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody, with family visitation from 6
to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 3
p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Summit Cemetery,
Summit Methodist Church in rural Burns.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Red Cross or Asbury Park.
