Julia L. Hamm
HALSTEAD-- Julia L. Hamm, 89, homemaker and education director at First United Methodist Church in Great Falls, Mont., died Saturday (June 28, 2003) at Halstead Place Assisted Living.
She was born April 26, 1914, to John and Ruth (Gollihur) Thurman in Cheney, Wash. They preceded her in death. She married Richard J. Hamm Nov. 5, 1936, in Great Falls. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1999.
She was a lifelong resident of Great Falls, moving to Halstead three months ago. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard J. Hamm of Kerrville Texas, and Roy W. Hamm of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Barbara L. Roach of Halstead; a brother, Allen Thurman of Greenwood Village, Colo.; a sister, Betty Klineburger of Sammanish, Wash.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a. m. Wednesday at Halstead Place Assisted Living.
An additional service will be held 11 a. m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Great Falls with the Revs. Morie Adam-Griffin and Linda Brock officiating. 
The cremains will be scattered. 
Memorials have been established with Great Falls Rescue Mission and First United Methodist Church, both in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, 418 Chestnut street, Halstead, KS 67056.
