Victoria Castleberry
1948 - 2018
Obituary
Victoria M. Castleberry, 70, entered
heaven in the early morning hours of Wednesday (June 6, 2018).
She was born to Bertrum and Elva
(Will-Wallace) VanAuken on March 12, 1948, in Newton.
Vicki was born into a family of
beauticians and a barber; she was a hair artist at several area
salons for 46 years. She worked beside her mother for many years and
finished her career doing hair at different local long-term care
facilities. Vicki graduated in 1967 from Vernon's Beauty School,
Wichita. In her early career, she knew every new style and color
technique and always sported the latest "do." Vicki briefly
changed her career path by obtaining her CDL license and driving a
truck; the job required a bit more muscle than she expected.
Preceding Vicki in death were her
father; mother, Elva Gregory; two sisters, Annabelle (Wallace) Finke
and Beverly Jean (Wallace) Graves; son, Courtney Ray Castleberry; and
sister-in-law, Barbara Wallace.
Survivors include her devoted son,
Bryan Castleberry, Newton; two brothers, Charles Wallace, Pueblo,
Colorado, and Wayne Wallace (Dorothy), Chanute; and the light of her
life, precious grandson, Keegan Castleberry. Many nieces, nephews and
lifelong friends have fond memories of Vicki's life.
Graveside service and inurnment will be
held at 10 a.m. Friday (June 15, 2018) at Walton Cemetery in Walton.
There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
