Obituary
Michael T. West, 71, died Thursday
(June 14, 2018) at Newton Presbyterian Manor. He was born Oct. 12,
1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Leo and Lucille (Winter) West. On
May 10, 1969, he married Mary Topping in Lawrence, and she survives
of the home.
Michael was a retired chemical engineer
with NCRA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the
home; and daughter, Michelle and her husband Corey Janssens of
Newton. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Julian Marshall and
Ellie Marshall.
Mike is preceded in death by his
parents.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday
(June 19, 2018) at the Newton Presbyterian Manor Chapel, with The
Reverend Nicholas Voelker presiding. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
(June 20, 2018) at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 1517 E. 15th in
Lawrence, with The Reverend Jeff Ernst presiding.
Memorials may be made to the SW 14th
Street AA Group in Mike's memory in care of Petersen Funeral Home,
Newton.
