Obituary
Florene Maye "Flo"
Berblinger, 83, of Sterling, passed away Wednesday (June 20, 2018) at
Newton Medical Center, Newton, after suffering a massive stroke. She
was born on Dec. 7, 1934, in Little River, the daughter of Robert and
Florence Murdick Reynolds. She graduated from Sterling High School.
Flo has resided at the Asbury Park
Retirement Community in Newton for the past year. Formerly of
Sterling, she was a bank teller for First Bank, formerly the Farmers
State Bank, in Sterling for 25 years. Flo was a member of the United
Methodist Church, Sterling, where she also taught Sunday School for
many years; member of the Xi Zeta Delta Sorority; volunteer for the
Meals on Wheels in Sterling; and was a faithful bridge player.
On April 15, 1955, Flo was united in
marriage with Marion G. Berblinger in Sterling. He preceded her in
death on Aug. 2, 2014. She is also preceded in death by her parents;
three brothers, Robert, Brownlee and Russell; and four sisters,
Bethel, Dorothy, Roberta and twin sister Florence.
She is survived by her son, Mike and
Sarah Berblinger of Buhler; two daughters, Pam and Dr. Ron Stevens of
Newton and Sara and Steve Rivas of Sterling; sister, Connie Morford
of Newton; nine grandchildren: Tyler (Ericia) Stevens, Lauren
Stevens, Hayley (Jesse) Howard, Lindsey (Andrew) Johnson, Caroline
(Jordan) Odell, Luke Berblinger, Rachel (Seth) Miller, Maren
Berblinger and Klint Carter; three step-grandchildren: Stephen Rivas,
Ashley Bennett and Anna Rivas; five great-grandchildren: Landyn and
Oliver Stevens, Wyatt and Elliott Howard, and Evelyn Johnson; four
step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and her
faithful companion, Tally.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday (June 27, 2018) at the United Methodist Church, Sterling,
with Pastor Matt Hendricks officiating. Burial will be at the
Sterling Community Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 2 to 7
p.m. Tuesday (June 26, 2018) at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with
family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Family Scholarship Fund established at Sterling High School or Asbury
Park Retirement Community in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
