Paul Franklin Diringer, "Frank," died on June 15, 2018, in Newton.

Frank was born in Newton to Paul and Clara Diringer. He graduated from Newton High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve and served his country from 1967 to 1970. He married Helen Mason on Nov. 14, 1969. He graduated from Bethel College in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Industrial Arts.

Frank resided in Newton all of his life. He worked for Hesston Corporation in 1966 and returned after his discharge from the Navy. In the 1980s, he began working at Boeing and retired from Spirit Aerosystems in 2011.

Frank was dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America and earned an Eagle Scout award. He was a Troop Leader during the 1980s. He was also an avid sports car enthusiast. In 2000, his love of race cars was demonstrated as he helped work as a crew with his son. He was a devoted member of the Sports Car Club of America from 1980 until he passed away. He served on the Board of Directors and was very active with SCCA around the country. He was able to travel to California for his last race in April 2018. Frank loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He liked to cook out, ride his motorcycle and practice target shooting.

Frank is survived by his wife, Helen. He has three children: Jodi (Kris), Tina and Ben. He has five grandchildren: Joshua, Jordan, Khalil, Austin and Vadan; and one great-grandchild, Alana. He is survived by one sister, Linda (Stan) Guhr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clara Diringer.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday (July 2, 2018) at Grace Community Church in Newton, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Frank's life.
