Obituary
MOUNT HOPE - Lydia Helen Klaassen, 99,
passed away on Tuesday (July 3, 2018) in Mt. Hope.
Lydia was born August 20, 1918 in
Newton, the daughter of John and Helene (Harper) Thiessen. On Aug.
31, 1944 she married Waldo Klaassen. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sons, Alan
(Jacqueline) of Kensington, California, John (Edith) of Baldwin City,
Leland (Judy) of DeSoto, and Keith (Sheril) of Wichita; two
daughters, Mary (John) Fowler of Wichita and Kathy (Daniel) Ensz of
Mt. Hope; Sister in law, Mary Ann Thimmes of Vancouver, Washington;
Brother in law John Pratt; 14 grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 9 a.m July 7 at the
Emmaus Mennonite Cemetery with the Graveside Service at 9:30 a.m.
Church service will follow at 11:00 a.m. July 7 at the Emmaus
Mennonite Church, Whitewater.
