Edward Klock
1954 - 2018
Obituary
Edward L. Klock, 63, died Monday (July
9, 2018) at his Newton residence. He was born July 11, 1954, in
Wichita to Melvin L. and Laura M. (Cammack) Klock. Ed grew up in
Wichita and was a member of the Broadway Christian Church with his
parents before joining the Catholic Church in 1982.
He was a 1972 graduate of Wichita
Southeast High School and received a degree in Architecture from
Kansas State University in 1981. On Sept. 18, 1982, he married Susan
D. Morrison at All Saints Catholic Church in Wichita and she survives
of the home.
Ed was a longtime partner with PBA
Architects in Wichita and has worked with GLMV Architects, also in
Wichita, since October 2017. During his career, he renovated and
created many public school buildings across the state of Kansas,
including several renovations with Newton Public Schools. Other local
projects that were close to his heart included renovations to the
Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Bethel College Mennonite
Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Ed enjoyed several hobbies in his spare
time. Besides working with the Harvey County Historical Society, he
also relished in woodworking and music. He would often be found
working in his workshop with Tim on various projects, such as decks
and speakers while he shared music with Katie and Adam. His passion
for music and woodworking was most apparent in his speaker building.
Ed's greatest hobby was spending time with his family; whether it was
a family vacation or an afternoon dinner, he enjoyed being with his
loved ones laughing and making memories.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of
the home; sons, Adam and Timothy (Alison) Klock, both of Wichita; and
daughter, Katie (Billy) Skidmore of Moscow, Idaho. He is also
survived by two grandchildren, Matthew Dean and Mason Edward Klock,
both of Wichita.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents;
and his son, Matthew Edward Klock.
