Obituary
Carol Ann Froese Kirchmer died
peacefully on Thursday (July 12, 2018) in Wichita at the age of 76.
Carol is survived by her husband,
Donald Kirchmer of Sedgwick; children, Kimberly Kirchmer (Jack
Dinsdale) of Bakersfield, California, and Jason Kirchmer (Kim) of
Wichita; grandchildren: Kayleigh, Kenna, Jackson, Aiden and Bailey;
siblings, Art Froese of San Luis Obispo, California, Nancy Enns of
Shafter, California, and Donna Froese of Wichita; and many nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, Albert and Helen Froese; and sister, Grace Gehle.
Carol was born on Sept. 7, 1941, in
Shafter, California. She graduated from Bethel College in North
Newton with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She married Don, whom she
met while attending Bethel, in 1964.
After moving to Dodge City, Carol began
teaching middle school English in Ensign, later continuing to teach
in Dodge City. The couple welcomed Kimberly and Jason into their
loving home. Carol's children remember her as a loving and patient
mother and grandmother who encouraged them to embrace life and pursue
their goals.
Carol was an accomplished
pianist/organist who shared her gift with many in performance,
instruction and celebration. She was a generous individual who loved
her family and her God above all and who was passionate about
educating children. She was an active and dedicated member of the
Salem United Methodist Church where she played the organ each Sunday
for many years. Carol was the President of AAUW KS and the Treasurer
of ABW.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Saturday (July 14, 2018) at the Salem United Methodist Church in
Newton. A reception luncheon will follow the graveside service.
Pastor Ron Kite will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to
attend and celebrate Carol's life.
