Agatha Penner Nightengale
Wohlgemuth, 92, passed away Wednesday (April 30, 2008) at Schowalter Villa in
Hesston.
She was born Feb. 29, 1916,
in Coldwater to Jacob and Susanna Penner. She was one of 13 children.
On Nov. 1, 1946, she married
Walter Nightengale in a double-ring ceremony with her sister, Evelyn, and Menno
Toews. At the time of their marriage, Walter had two children, Larry and
Carolyn. They resided in Fairview, Okla., until 1950, then moved to a farm near
Clinton, Okla. Later, in 1959, they moved to a new home in Cordell, Okla.
In November 1980, Agatha
married William (Bill) Wohlgemuth, and they lived in Cordell until 1998, when
they moved to Schowalter Villa in Hesston. In November 2005, Bill passed away.
Agatha leaves to mourn her
son, Larry Nightengale and wife, Jean, of Cordell; daughter, Carolyn Kuter and
husband, Roger, of Union City, Ga.; grandchildren, Kevin and Sherry
Nightengale, Lisa and Wayne Willard of Cordell, Okla., Michele Kuter of Alaska
and Amber Connally of Union City; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Esther Wichert and husband, Herb, and Evelyn Toews and husband, Menno, in
California; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She also leaves Bill's
family, Loretta and Thomas Lee; Violet and William Dick; Willis and Lucinda
Wohlgemuth; eight grand-children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to
8 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m.
Monday at Hesston Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at
Schowalter Villa.
