Sharon Ann Morton
Sharon Ann Morton, 54, passed
away Thursday (May 15, 2008) at her residence in Newton.
She was born May 24, 1953, in
Harlan, Iowa, to Eugene and Marjorie (Welch) Gaer.
On Nov. 3, 1973, she married
Michael Morton in Harlan. He survives of the home.
Sharon was a member of Old
Main Street Church of Christ in Newton. She was a homemaker and teacher's aide
at several Newton elementary schools.
She enjoyed exercising,
jigsaw puzzles, counted cross stitch and spending time with her many friends
and loving family, especially her six grandchildren.
Other survivors include
father, Eugene Gaer of Harlan; daughter, Amy Pearce of Kingman; sons, Alan
Morton of Newton and Andrew Morton of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Thomas Gaer of
Irwin, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her mother, Marjorie (Welch) Gaer.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9
p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends
from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Tuesday at Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in Newton, with Pastor Darrick
Shepherd of Old Main Street Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn
Gardens of Memory in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Old Main Street Church of Christ Building Fund in care of the
funeral home.
