Leichliter, 64, of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Rochester, Minn., and Ponca
City, Okla., went to be with her Lord Monday (May 19, 2008) following an
extended illness.
She was born June 22, 1944,
in Newton, the daughter of Orlando and Florence Claassen. They preceded her in
death.
She graduated from Berean
Academy in Elbing and received a bachelor's degree in music education at Fort
Hays University in Hays.
Along with love of music,
sewing, gardening and scrapbooking, Luanna had a desire to minister to women.
She spoke to women's groups, led Bible studies and was involved in the women's
ministry of her church, Autumn Ridge in Rochester, before she became ill.
Luanna was a wonderful
example of a godly wife and mother. She and Homer Leichliter enjoyed a 44-year
marriage. Homer lovingly cared for Luanna throughout her illness. To this union
were born Rachel, husband Mark Miller, of Omaha; Rhoda, husband Troy Rader, of Moore,
Okla.; Kent Leichliter, wife Lori, of Solo, Mo.; and Ryan Leichliter of Omaha.
There are 11 grandchildren,
Karsten Miller, Gabrielle Miller, Carissa Miller, Zachary Miller, Hannah Rader,
