Verta G. Goebel
Verta G. Goebel, 91, died
Thursday (May 29, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1916,
in Buffalo, the daughter of Mose E. and Nora Crumrine Cox.
She was a homemaker, a baker
at the grocery store, a dietary aide at Memorial Home and a member of First
Mennonite Church in Moundridge. On Oct. 20, 1939, she married Marvin W. Goebel
in Moundridge. He died April 12, 1972.
Survivors include sons,
Jerroll of Moundridge, Roger and James of Wichita, and Ronald of Eldridge,
Iowa; daughter, Marilyn Stucky of Peabody; 14 grandchildren; and 25
great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by a son, Gordon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to
8 p.m. Saturday at Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge.
Committal services will be at
9:45 a.m. Monday at the First Mennonite Church Cemetery in Moundridge, followed
by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Memorials may be given to
First Mennonite Church or Memorial Home in care of the funeral home.
