Linda Lea (Alderson) Friesen
CLEVELAND, Okla. - Linda Lea
(Alderson) Friesen of Cleveland, Okla., went to be with Our Lord in Heaven on
Saturday (March 29, 2008). She succumbed to complications of pulmonary illness,
for which she had been treated for several years.
Linda was born Jan. 26, 1942,
in Howard. She grew up and attended school in Newton. After marrying her
husband, Marion Friesen, she resided in Wichita for a number of years before
moving to the Keystone Lake area of Oklahoma in 1972.
Linda had a lifelong love of
all things beautiful, particularly flowers and plants. This lifelong
appreciation compelled her to attend and graduate from the Kansas School of
Floral Design. Following her graduation, she opened and operated her own
business, Keystone Lake Florist, in Cleveland, for a number of years.
She is survived by her
husband, Marion A. Friesen of Cleveland; her brother, Larry Alderson and wife,
Bobbi, of Wichita; daughters, Laurie Davis and husband, John, of La Vista,
Neb., Sherrie Kammerer of Cleveland, and Christy Mathews and husband, Stewart,
of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Christopher Friesen and wife, Susie, of Broken
Arrow, Okla.; grandsons, Joshua Mitchell, 21, Eric Davis, 14, Hunter Mathews,
11, Corey Mathews, 9, and Braden Friesen, 4; and granddaughters, Elizabeth
Davis, 14, and Shalyn Friesen, 10.
She was preceded in death by
her mother, Cleo Nadine Alderson, and her father, Edward Lee Alderson, both of
Newton.
Linda was a loving sister,
wife, mother, cousin, aunt and grandmother who shared her many talents and
gifts with us all. We will always remember and cherish that in our hearts.
A memorial service
celebrating her life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Floral-Haven Funeral Chapel
in Broken Arrow at (918) 252-2518.
