Esther M. Zerger
MOUNDRIDGE - Esther M.
Zerger, 89, of Moundridge, passed away Wednesday (April 2, 2008) at Mercy
Hospital in Moundridge.
She was born July 9, 1918, in
Newton to Bernhard G. and Auguste Epp Regier.
She married Paul Zerger on
Sept. 1, 1940, in Newton. He passed away Jan. 23, 1998.
Esther was a homemaker and a
member of Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge. She graduated from Bethel
College with a degree in home economics.
Survivors include two sons,
Joseph W. (Beverly) Zerger of McPherson and Richard P. (Donna) Zerger of
McPherson; two daughters, Joanne M. (David H.) Janzen of Evanston, Ill., and
Frances K. (Walter) Hochstetler of Beech Grove, England; 12 grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; one brother, Walter Regier; and one sister, Elma McProud.
Visitation will be from 4 to
8 p.m. Friday at Moundridge Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside service will be at
10 a.m. Saturday at Eden Church Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11
a.m. at Eden Mennonite Church.
In lieu of flowers, the
family suggests memorial contributions be given to Bethel College, Memorial
Home in Moundridge or Eden Mennonite Church, in care of the funeral home.
