Arthur 'Art' Lee Kyburz
WALTON - Arthur
"Art" Lee Kyburz died Saturday (April 19, 2008) at Harry Hynes
Memorial Hospital in Wichita.
He was born Sept. 23, 1930,
in Fairbury, Ill., the son of John and Bertha (Steineger) Kyburz. They preceded
him in death.
In 1949, he graduated from
Monticello High School in Monticello, Ind.
Art married Mary Kerr in 1976
in Coatesville, Penn. In the 1980s, Art was given the opportunity to start a
potato chip business. Together, Art and Mary moved to Kansas and started
"ART'S Tater Chips" in Wichita, later moving the business to Walton.
Mary passed away in 1999.
He enjoyed Kansas, and living
in Walton and Clay Center, where he attended the Clay Center Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by two sons,
Ken Kyburz of Walton and Bill Kyburz of Vienna, Va.; two daughters, Reba
Giacalone of Earlville, Penn., and Ruth Ann Groff of Pottstown, Penn.; two
sisters, Ann Stokes of Decatur, Ill., and Elvene Kelly of San Diego; three
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He also was preceded in death
by two brothers, John and Walter, and three sisters, Eunice, Lurine and
Mildera.
Visitation will be from noon
to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton with the family
present to greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Michael Paschall of
Clay Center presiding.
There will be no burial at
this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice in care of the funeral home.
