Orville B. Unruh
GOESSEL - Orville B. Unruh,
86, passed away Monday (April 21, 2008) at his home in Goessel.
He was born May 18, 1921, to
Rudolph and Lydia Schroeder Unruh. They preceded him in death.
He married Elsie Reimer on
Nov. 1, 1946, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel. She survives
of the home.
After graduation from Goessel
Rural High School, he served as a non-combatant in the U.S. Army from 1942 to
1945.
He was a farmer, school bus
driver and assembler at Hesston Corp. He was a member of Alexanderwohl
Mennonite Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
In addition to his beloved
wife, he is survived by three daughters, Donna (Bob) Becker of Newton, Sherry
(Ed) Epp of Independence and June (Wayne) Unruh of McPherson; grandchildren,
Leslie Epp and fiancé Justin Gordon, Nathan Epp, Kate Becker and Katherine,
Julayne, Elisabeth, Emily, Audrey and William Unruh; sister, Audrey (Alvin)
Boese of Lehigh; brother, Lowell Unruh of Florence; brother- and sister-in-law
Wilbert and Ruth Reimer of Becker, Minn.; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Reimer of
Canton.
He also was preceded in death
by a son, Charles Mark.
Visitation will be from 4 to
8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel, with family present from 6
to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Friday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, with Pastor Linda Ewert and
Pastor Lee Suderman officiating.
Burial will follow at the
church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the church or Bethesda Home in care of the funeral home.
