Angelina Marion
1932 - 2018
Obituary
Angelina Reyes Marion, 85, of San
Antonio, passed away on July 23, 2018. Angie was born in Kingman on
Oct. 25, 1932, adopted by the late Maria Rodriguez and Tranquilino C.
Reyes.
She was raised in Newton and resided
there until she met and married the love of her life, Benjamin
Sanchez. They moved to Wichita, where they raised their family.
Angie's passion were her children. She
was involved in their after school activities, Boy Scouts and Camp
Fire Girls. I'm not sure what can do more for a mother's heart than
seeing other people truly love and care for their children; Angie was
that special person, she was a mother to all of her children's
friends.
Her love of music was passed on to her
family through music lessons, band practices and school concerts. Her
weeknights and weekends would be full playing an active role in their
endeavors.
While living in Wichita, she went back
to school and became a licensed vocational nurse. In 1969, the
aircraft industry was booming and the family moved to Mexico City,
where her husband opened the first of their fixed based operations of
private and governmental aircraft service centers.
During the 1970s, her children and
grandchildren relocated to San Antonio and Angie's love for her
family beckoned her to relocate. She shared the experience of life,
memories and stories of her parents, family and friends with each
generation. To everyone who knew her, "We love you more."
Angie was preceded in death by her
parents, Maria and Tranquilino Reyes; husbands, Retired Lt. Col.
Louis Marion and Benjamin Sanchez; her beloved youngest daughter,
Debra Denise Sanchez; and her adored brother, Felix A. Reyes.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana
(Mario) Arevalo; son, Benjamin (Cindy) Sanchez; five grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson, all of San
Antonio; and her younger sisters, Anita Guevara of San Antonio and
Tina Reyes of Newton.
