Eldo Stucky

Eldo Stucky, 94, died Friday (Jan. 23, 2004) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. He was born July 30, 1909, to Jacob and Marie (Friesen) Stucky in Alta Mill. They preceded him in death. He married Minnie Dick July 26, 1932, in Alta Mill. She survives of Sedgwick. He was a Christian. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building and truck driving. He owned and operated Stucky Fedders Supply in Wichita. He was one of the founders of Chapel by the Sea in Port Isabel, Texas. He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton.

Other survivors include: a daughter: Patricia Litsey and husband Clinton of Sedgwick; a son, Eugene Stucky of Valley Center; two brothers, Albert Stucky of Sunrise Beach, Texas, and Harold Stucky of Hutchinson; four sisters, Linda Evans of Portland, Ore., Nahida Miller of Newton, Amanda Nightingale of Burrton and Esther Wagner of Hutchinson; two grandchildren, Alaina Litsey Wirtz and husband Richard of Wicita and Lynne Litsey Youngquist and husband Mike of Lenexa; and five great grandhcildren.

He also was preceded in death by: a brother; Richard Stucky; and two sisters, Frieda Pauls and Lorraine Stucky.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p. m. at Petersen Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11 a. m. Tuesday at First Mennonite Church of Newton with Pastors Clarence Rempel and Verney Unruh officiating.

Burial will be 2 p. m. Tuesday at First Mennonite of Christian Church Cemetery in rural Moundridge.

Memorials have been established with the Mennonite Central Committee and Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home.
