Obituary
Ruby Irene Kurr, 82, of Newton, passed
away peacefully on Saturday (Aug. 18, 2018) at Asbury Park.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1935, in
Newton, the daughter of Paul and Blanche Regier. Ruby attended Berean
Academy and graduated from Newton High in 1953. She married Les Kurr
on April 21, 1956, in Elbing.
Ruby loved farming with her husband in
rural Newton and raising her six children. She was a devoted
Christian who loved sharing her faith with others and was a member of
Newton Bible Church.
Survivors include her six children:
Gary Kurr and wife Cindy of Newton, Joni Isaac and husband Mark of
Fort Worth, Texas, Lori Knowles and husband Joe of Maryland, David
Kurr and wife Stacy of Wichita, Kathy Rhodes and husband Jeffrey of
Madison, Mississippi, and James Kurr of Overland Park; her sister,
Judy Janzen of Newton; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ruby is preceded in death by her
parents; and husband, Les.
Ruby was an amazing woman with
boundless energy and love for her husband, family, the Lord and all
of those she came in contact with. Ruby spread happiness with her
smile, kindness, baked goods and loving words.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 22, 2018) at Newton Bible Church. Interment will
follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday (Aug. 21, 2018) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, and the
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial has been established with
the Newton Bible Church (please indicate "Nursery Renovations").
