ASHLAND - Mildred I. Herman
Malt, 88, of Halstead, formerly of Ashland, passed away Thursday (March 6,
2008) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born April 6, 1919,
near Zenda to Otha G. and Lulu Gleason Holiday.
She married John T. Herman on
May 23, 1936, in Ashland. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1967.
She married Edward Fredde on
May 3, 1968, in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1977.
She married Sydney Malt on
April 5, 1980, in Ashland. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1993.
Survivors include son, Dennis
Ray Herman and wife, Joanne, of Newton; grandson, Clint Herman and wife,
Carrie, of Newton; granddaughter, Jeni Herman and fiancé, Donald;
great-grandsons, Coleton Herman and Connor Herman; step-son, Sydney B. Malt of
Rosston, Okla.; step-daughters, Shirley Ann Barns of Palatine, Ill., Sharon
Blackett of Magna, Utah, and Doris Howard of Emporia; eight step-grandchildren;
18 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in
death by a brother, Lloyd Holiday; and two sisters, Leona Burk and Thelma
Mullendore.
Calling hours are from 9 a.m.
to 8 p.m. today at Myatt Funeral Home in Ashland.
Graveside service will be at
11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery in Ashland, with the Rev. Joe Conaway
officiating.
