Georgia M. Logan
Georgia M. Logan, 87, passed
away Sunday (March 9, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 26, 1920,
in Buhler to John and Katherine (Thiessen) Boese. They preceded her in death.
She married Fred Logan on
June 15, 1941, in Newton. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1997.
She was an active, life-long
member of First Baptist Church in Newton, where she served on many committees
throughout the years.
She also was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star, Beauceonts, and Toltec. She served as past Matron
and Secretary treasurer of the Eastern Star.
Georgia was also a member of
the National Association of Railroad Veterans and the Tokalon Club.
She enjoyed cross stitch and
quilting. She also enjoyed antiquing and traveling. Georgia enjoyed spending
time with her friends traveling on a cruise featuring the Gaither Gospel Group.
She was well known for her
card playing skills and enjoyed the time she spent having coffee and
conversation with her many friends. She looked forward to spending time with
her loving family, who will greatly miss her.
Survivors include daughters,
Paula and Galen Dyck of Newton and Carol Hudson of Wichita; son, Vernon and
Elaine Logan of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandsons, Ray Hudson of Wichita and Ryan
Logan of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Lisa and Stuart Ford of Topeka and
Heather Beasley of Newton; great-grandson, Fred Ford of Topeka; and
great-granddaughters, Madison Beasley and Abigail Beasley of Newton.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving
friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 11
a.m. Thursday at Newton First Baptist Church, with Pastor Terry Tariela of the
church officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the church or the Center for Basic Cancer Research in care of the
funeral home.
