Gail N. Morgan
Gail N. Morgan, 65, passed
away Tuesday (March 11, 2008) at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St.
Francis campus in Wichita.
She was born Feb. 24, 1943,
in Newton to Richard C. and Catherine (Bernard) Morgan. They preceded her in
death.
Gail was raised in Newton and
graduated from Newton High School in 1961. She earned her bachelor's degree in
elementary education from Emporia State Teachers College in 1965.
In 1966, she began a career
with TWA as a flight attendant in California. She worked for the airline for 35
years before retiring in Chicago in 2001.
She returned to Newton in
2001 to be close to her family members. Gail greatly looked forward to spending
time with her loving family and friends.
Survivors include twin sister,
Gwen Suderman and husband, John, of Newton; sister, Patricia Kaufman of
Wichita; sister-in-law, Maggie Morgan of Newton; 10 nieces and nephews; and 14
great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in
death by a brother, Richard C. Morgan Jr., and a niece, Terry Sheffler.
Recitation of the Holy
Rosary, led by the Legion of Mary, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary Catholic
Church in Newton. The family will receive friends in the church foyer following
the Rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30
a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Mainzer of the church officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to St. Mary Church School Building Fund or the Center for Basic Cancer
Research at Kansas State University, both in care of Petersen Funeral Home in
Newton.
