Grace Alice Truesdell
Grace Alice Truesdell, 86,
passed away Wednesday (March 19, 2008) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton.
She was born July 8, 1921, in
Kenneth to Daniel E. and Mattie E. (Virden) Bush. They preceded her in death.
On June 3, 1939, she married
John E. Truesdell at Linneus, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Grace was a homemaker and
worked in a variety of manufacturing jobs. She liked quilting, gardening and
oil painting and loved to travel. Grace also loved her grandkids and her dog,
Buddy.
Survivors include daughters,
Sandy (Bill) Schwabauer of Newton and Mary Smith of Newton; grandsons, Brandon
Bacon of Wichita, Steve Bacon of North Newton, John Bacon of Overland Park and
Derek Smith of Newton; granddaughters, Cim Sturgeon of Newton and Tonya Smith
of Rowlette, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in
death by a son, John D. Truesdell; four brothers; and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting
friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Tareila of Newton First
Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Diabetes Association or Newton First Baptist Church in
care of the funeral home.
