Anna L. Klassen
Anna L. Klassen, 93, passed
away Tuesday (March 25, 2008) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton.
She was born Feb. 9, 1915, in
Inola, Okla., to Henry J. and Katie (Schroeder) Klassen. They preceded her in
death.
Anna grew up in the Halstead,
Bentley and Burrton areas. She worked at First National Bank and Intrust Bank
in Wichita for 27 years.
After retiring, she
volunteered at Newton Medical Center and the Et Cetera Shop in Newton. She also
pieced together quilts for the MCC relief auction. Anna took pride in watering
the plants at the church.
She was a resident of Asbury
Park in Newton and a longtime member of First Mennonite Church in Newton.
Anna enjoyed spending time
with her loving family and friends.
Survivors include sister,
Martha and Wesley Epp; brother-in-law, Harvey Deckert; and sister-in-law, Dina
Klassen, all of Inman.
She also was preceded in
death by brothers, Art, Menno and John Klassen; and sisters, Linda Androes,
Olga Androes and Ruth Deckert.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends
from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at
10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Clarence Rempel of Newton
First Mennonite Church officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Asbury Park, the church or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the
funeral home.
