Noel E. Porter
Noel E. Porter, 89, passed
away Wednesday (March 26, 2008) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
He was born Nov. 14, 1918, in
Beloit to Joseph W. and Maggie F. (VanPelt) Porter. They preceded him in death.
Noel graduated from Beloit
High School in 1937 and served three years during World War II in the Army Air
Corps in the South Pacific Theater.
On May 6, 1984, he married
Arvilla J. Wing. She survives of the Catholic Care Center in Wichita.
Noel retired from farming and
ranching near Red Cloud, Neb. He and his wife later moved to Newton and various
other Kansas communities, most recently moving to the Cornerstone Assisted
Living Center in Wichita. Noel looked forward to spending time with his loving
family and many friends.
Other survivors include
stepdaughter, Sharon and Glen Damon of Wichita; sister, Viola Jean Aker of
Abilene; twin brother, Lowell and Lucille Porter of Dayton, Ohio; and several
nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death
by brothers Richard Porter and Donald Porter.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting friends
from 2 to 3 p.m.
Graveside committal service will
be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Cemetery in Cedar.

made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
