Elmer Lee Seibel
NORTH NEWTON - Elmer Lee
Seibel, 88, passed away Wednesday (March 26, 2008) in North Newton.
He was born Jan. 31, 1920, in
Alune, the son of Anna (Wall) and Jacob Seibel. They preceded him in death.
On June 12, 1953, he married
Dorothy Amy Pankratz in Hillsboro. She survives of the home.
He was a member of First Mennonite
Brethren Church in Wichita. Elmer built homes in Wichita for a number of years
before retiring. Woodworking was a favorite pastime of Elmer's. He also enjoyed
his fishing trips.
Other survivors include son,
Gerald Seibel and wife, Loreta, of Kechi; daughter, Leora Schneider and
husband, Marty, of Milford, Neb.; brothers, Homer and Wallace Seibel; sisters,
Lucena Thiessen and Frances Quintana; and grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob and
Julia Seibel of Kechi, Amy (Adam) Hoagland of Hastings, Neb., and Vance
Schneider of Milford.
He also was preceded in death
by brothers, Clarence and Ernest.
Visitation will be from 1 to
8 p.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting
friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Brethren Church, 8000 W. 21st in Wichita.
Burial will follow at
Resthaven Mortuary and Cemetery in Wichita.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Mennonite Central Committee in care of
the funeral home.
