Mae Jantz, 79, passed away Sunday (Feb. 17, 2008) at Moundridge Manor in
Moundridge.
She was born
Feb. 8, 1929, in Halstead to Enoch D. and Anna (Smith) Koehn. They preceded her
in death.
She married
Clifford Jantz on May 26, 1963. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2002.
Neva was a
member of the Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in rural Burns. She
worked as a nurse aide at several different hospitals. Neva also helped her
husband with their dairy operation. She enjoyed using her nursing skills,
sitting with people at night. Neva enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.
She looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
Survivors
include a daughter, Jana Smith of Burns; sons, Michael Jantz of Cochise, Ariz.,
and Bradley Jantz of Burns; sisters, Dorothy Jantz of Burns, Edna Koehn of
Newton and Pansy Koehn of Burns; brothers, Glen Koehn of Texline, Texas, and
Stanley Koehn of Burns; and 10 grandchildren.
She also was
preceded in death by sisters, Caroline Fast, Agnes Jantz, Evelyn Jantz, Wilma
Schmidt and Jeralyn Koehn; brother, Jesse Koehn; and granddaughter, Carly
Jantz.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral
service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Eden Church of God in Christ,
Mennonite, with Lowell Koehn, Vernon Koehn and Roland Koehn officiating.
Burial will
be at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery in Burns.
Memorial
contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and Moundridge Manor in care
of the funeral home.
