Joyce McLear
BROKEN
ARROW, Okla. - Joyce McLear, 55, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2008) at St.
Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., after a lengthy illness.
She was born
August 18, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Gertrude
(DeBoer) Blough.
Joyce was a
1969 graduate of Hesston High School. She attended Hesston College, Wichita
State University and the University of Kansas. She moved to Broken Arrow in
1983.
She was in
sales, most recently for Metal Panels Inc., and had worked for SPI, Midwest
Insulation and Roofing. She was a past owner of George and George Safety and
Gloves.
She enjoyed
arts and antiques and was involved with Bulldogs Baseball as a team mother.
She is
survived by sisters, Judy Smith and husband, Marland, of Emporia, and Julia
Rodgers and husband, Terry, of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers, John Blough and
wife, Isabelle, of Hesston, Jerry Blough and wife, Bonnie, of Reno, Nev., Jim
Blough and wife, Marva, of Hesston, Jay Blough and wife, Mary, of Oklahoma
City, and Dr. J. Arden Blough and wife, Della, of Edmond, Okla.; and eight
nephews and eight nieces.
She was
preceded in death by sister, Jane, and her parents.
Funeral
service was at 11 a.m. today at Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church in
Broken Arrow, where she was a member. Pastor Chris Buskirk officiated.
Graveside
service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Eastlawn Cemetery in Hesston. Pastor
Willmar Harder will officiate under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
