Susan B. Kaufman
MOUNDRIDGE - Susan B. Kaufman, 94, of Moundridge passed away
Thursday (Jan. 3, 2008) at The Cedars in McPherson.
She was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Hutchinson to Parkinson D. and
Georgia (Smyth) Bonebrake. She was a long-time Moundridge resident.
She was a 1931 graduate of Hutchinson High School, a 1933
graduate of Hutchinson Junior College and a 1935 graduate of Washburn
University.
She married Raymond J. Kaufman on Sept. 27, 1939, in Topeka.
He died on June 19, 1992.
She was a high school teacher in Circleville, Moundridge and
then Newton, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Daughters
of the American Revolution, P.E.O. Chapter AY of McPherson, the Moundridge
Study Club and the First Church of Christ, Scientist of McPherson.
Survivors include a son, Owen R. Kaufman and wife, Sandy, of
Moundridge; daughters, Pamela Otte and husband, Lloyd, of Canton and Priscilla
K. Davenport and husband, John, of Dallas; grandchildren, Russ Otte and wife,
Rhonda, Grant Kaufman and wife, Pam, Susan Paske and husband, Scott, and Alex
Kaufman; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Moundridge
Funeral Home.
A graveside committal service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at
Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Hutchinson, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. James Gingerich presiding.
