Chester H. Koehn

BURNS - Chester H. Koehn, 64, passed away Friday (Jan. 4, 2008) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Newton to Herman and Luvina (Smith) Koehn.

He was a member of Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in rural Burns and was employed for more than 20 years at AGCO Manufacturing.

He married Arlene Koehn on April 4, 1965, in Burns. She survives of Burns.

Chester enjoyed his children and grandchildren, as well as gardening and yard work. All who knew Chester described him as being a very outgoing, generous, kind and hard-working man. His sense of humor will stay with everyone whose life he touched. His close walk with God and strong personal prayer life are a comfort.

Other survivors include daughters, Sandra Koehn of Wichita, and Vickie and Matthew Koehn of Burns; son, Marshall and Miranda Koehn of Madrid, Neb.; brothers, Bob Koehn of Burns, Gilbert Koehn of Moundridge, Laurel Koehn of Farmington, Ky., and Roger Koehn of Burns; grandchildren, Kendra, Shayla, Madalyne, Mason, Matthew, Kyler and Carson; and mother, Luvina (Smith) Koehn.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherrie Koehn, and his father, Herman Koehn.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 Tuesday at Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, with Lowell Koehn, Vernon Koehn and Roland Koehn officiating.

Burial will be at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Burns.

Memorial contributions can be made to Eden Christian School in care of the funeral home.
