Shirley Ann Schmidt
HESSTON - Shirley Ann
Schmidt, 72, passed away Thursday (Jan. 11, 2008) at Schowalter Villa in
Hesston.
She was born March 28, 1935,
in Lehigh to Ed and Esther (Schmidt) Plenert.
On Aug. 15, 1969, she married
Allen Schmidt in Hillsboro. He survives of the home.
Shirley was a member of First
Mennonite Church in Newton. She worked in the health care industry for Bethel
Home for the Aging and Kidron Bethel Health Care for many years.
She was an avid reader and
enjoyed spending time with her loving family and friends.
Other survivors include
mother, Esther Plenert of Hillsboro; brothers, Jerry Plenert and wife, Sherry,
of Canton and Alan Plenert of Canton.
She was preceded in death by
her father, Ed Plenert, and a son, James Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends
from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church in Newton, with Pastor Clarence Rempel of
the church officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn
Gardens of Memory in Newton.

made to First Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
