Blanche Ida Early
CANON CITY, Colo. - Blanche
Ida Early, 87, passed away Saturday (Jan. 19, 2008) in Canon City, Colo.
She was born Sept. 17, 1920,
in Whitewater to Julius and Martha E. (Wiens) Rutschman. They preceded her in
death
She graduated from Whitewater
High School in 1939.
Blanche married William A.
Early on Nov. 7, 1942, in Newton, and they moved to Canon City in 1958.
After raising her children,
Blanche managed the World Savings office in Florence, Colo., from 1973 to 1985.
She enjoyed camping, bowling, gardening and making her own clothes, as well as
attending Lion's Club functions with her husband until his death in 1997. She
was famous for her cinnamon rolls.
Blanche is survived by her
sons, John A. (Jeri) Early and William Alan Early (Carol Maslow) both of Canon
City; two grandchildren, James W. Early of Seattle and Rami Mari Stoner of
Canon City; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene M. Grapengater and
Bernice Unruh, both of Newton, and Julia Decker of Sun City West, Ariz.;
brother, Marvin Rutschman of Dodge City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in
death by a grandson, Jason; three sisters; and one brother.
A memorial service will be at
10 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Canon City, with the Reverend
Jack Crosby officiating.
Inurnment will be at
Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Fremont County Humane Society at 1105 Rhoades,
Canon City, CO 81212 or to the Alzheimer's Association at Rocky Mountain North
Chapter, 4104 Outlook Blvd., Bldg. B, Pueblo, CO 81008.
