Ruth Ann Cornelius

Ruth Ann Cornelius, 78, passed away Monday (Jan. 28, 2008) at Halstead Health and Rehab.

She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Auburn to Nicholas and Barbara Stadler. They preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Catholic faith.

Ruth Ann retired from the State of Kansas. Following her retirement, she worked at the Newton Dairy Queen. She enjoyed tending flowers, gardening and baking.

Ruth Ann looked forward to spending time with her friends and loving family.

Survivors include daughters, Cheryl and John Jackson of Newton and Candace and Larry Hardman of California; son, Jacob and Rhonda Sacks of Douglas; brothers, Sylvestor Stadler of Topeka, Nicholas Stadler of Wichita and Jake Stadler of Chicago; sister, Irene Mader of Texas; daughter-in-law, Sony Sacks of Newton; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Sacks.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton, with the Rev. John Brungardt of the church officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, which is in charge of arrangements.
