Milferd J. Reimer

HESSTON -- Milferd J. Reimer, 83, died Monday (July 23, 2001) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

He was born March 31, 1918, to Jake and Agnes (Unruh) Reimer in Goessel. They preceded him in death. He married Verna Schmidt March 11, 1944, in Goessel. She preceded him in death Sept. 19, 2000.

He worked at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, pool, hunting, gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include: a son, Lindley J. Reimer of Liberal; a daughter, Janene Armbruster of Granite Bay, Calif.; two brothers, Elmer Reimer of Loveland, Colo., and LeRoy Reimer of Hesston; and two sisters, Helen Dyck of West Plains and Alice Goerzen of rural Newton; and five grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Jerold Reimer.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with Pastor Rusty Bonham officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church and the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
