Irene Banman Obituary Irene M. Banman, 93, passed away on Sept. 22, 2018, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. Irene was born on June 7, 1925, in Moundridge to John Lewis Bender and Emma (Stucky) Bender. She married Paul Banman on Sept. 21, 1951, at West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Banman; and her brother, Robert Bender. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Fox and husband David, and Paula Steele and husband Pat, all of Newton; her sister, Marjorie Loewen and husband John of Hutchinson; her brother, Darrel Bender of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Adam Fox and wife Stephanie of Hutto, Texas, Brian Steele and wife Shanda of Wichita and Brenda and husband Matt Smith of Bel Aire; and six great-grandchildren: Lexus, Conner, Haley, Kayla, Brooklyn and Brady. Memorial services with be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 6, 2018) at Faith Mennonite Church, 2100 N. Anderson Ave. in Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Faith Mennonite Church.
