Harold R. Plenert
WICHITA - Harold R. Plenert,
85, retried Wichita school psychologist and teacher, died Sunday (Jan. 27,
2008).
Harold was born April 2,
1922, near Hillsboro to Albert and Olga Plenert. They preceded him in death.
He received a Bachelor of
Arts degree from Bethel College in 1948 and Master of Arts degree in elementary
education from Colorado State College of Education in 1955. He worked as a
teacher, principal and school psychologist for 40 years in public schools in
South Dakota and Kansas.
Harold was moved by his
Christian faith to a lifetime of service for the welfare of children and
advocating for justice and peace for all.
Survivors include a son,
Keith of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter, Connie (Jeff) White of Bel Aire; a
sister, Anne (Kenneth) Carrel of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua (Amber)
and Erin White; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Anton and Jackson White.
He also was preceded in death
by his wife of 55 years, Florine (Waltner), and a brother, Eugene Plenert.
Memorial service will be at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church in Wichita.
