Hudson-Sparks, 87, passed away Saturday (Nov. 10, 2007) at Kidron Bethel
Retirement Services.
She was born
Aug. 21, 1920, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Alonzo and Fanny (Lance) Bain.
She
graduated from Pittsburg schools and went on to business school in Kansas City,
where she met and married Edward W. Hudson. They made their home in Wichita.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Westlink Christian and West Heights
United Methodist churches.
Survivors
include sisters, Velma Pistole of Pittsburg and Dortha Tucker of Overbrook; a
sister-in-law, Leatha Bain of Macomb. Ill.; a son, Larry E. Hudson of North
Newton; daughters, Joan Longstaff of Edmonds, Wash., and Linda and Paul Welsch
of Newton; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Dr. Lawrence Bain; and a
sister, Mable Erickson.
Funeral
service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.
Memorials
may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
