Hershberger, 88, Hesston, KS, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Newton
Medical Center, Newton, KS. Funeral services 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17 at
the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO. Burial in Clearfork Cemetery, Garden
City, MO. Friends may call 7:00-8:00 PM Friday at the chapel.
Dollie was
born January 19, 1919 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of William and Ella (Seltzer)
Landis. She married Elba Hershberger on October 9, 1945. Dollie worked at
various hospitals in Kansas City as an LPN. She had lived in Canton, KS and
Harrisonville, MO before moving to Hesston five years ago. She was a member of
the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church in Garden City, MO. Dollie was well-known
throughout the county for her homemade cakes and rolls.
Dollie was
preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Elba, of the
home; four sons, Eldon Hershberger, Belton, MO, Myron Hershberger, Canon City,
CO, Richard Hershberger, Orrick, MO and Sherwin Hershberger, Harrisonville, MO;
one daughter, Marcia Lightcap, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Fred Landis,
Midland, TX; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
