Ralph Quincy
"R.Q." Adams, 92, died Friday (Nov. 16, 2007) at the Kansas Christian
Home in Newton.
He was born
Aug. 12, 1915, in Olustee, Okla, the son of John Pearl and Georgia Pearl
(Vernon) Adams. He was united in marriage to Annamae Leavell on March 16, 1942,
in Indianapolis, Ind.
R.Q. and
Annamae were missionaries with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
retiring in 1980. He also served as a missionary in Paraguay from 1943 to 1963,
and in Venezuela from 1973 to 1976. He served as an interim minister in various
churches throughout Oklahoma.
He is
survived by a daughter, Virginia Katherine (Adams) Hutchinson of Middletown,
Conn.; and two sons, Walter Henry Adams of Haddam, Conn.; and Benjamin Harold
Adams of Buffalo, Wyo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a
brother, Jack Adams of Vacaville, Calif.
He was
preceded in death by his wife; parents; a brother, Ben Adams; and three
sisters, Alma Ruth Spadoni, Katherine Masters and Georgia Garrett.
Funeral
services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Kansas Christian Home with Chaplain
Denny Bell officiating.
