Agnes Budde
Agnes Budde, 87, died Wednesday (July
5, 2000) at her residence in Newton. She was born Nov. 1, 1912, in
Goessel to Jacob J. and Anna (Dyck) Klassen. She married Albert Budde
Nov. 18, 1936, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. He
survives of Newton. She was a member of First Mennonite Church in
Newton and Pleasant Ladies Circle of Pleasant Township from 1940 to
1998, which was organized in 1925. She enjoyed sewing, trying new
recipes, gardening, crocheting, playing
the piano, singing and research for
genealogy. She also enjoyed volunteering and collecting for the Red
Cross, CROP and the Cancer Society. She served as the 'Sing Along'
leader at Bethel Home for the Aged and later at Kidron Bethel.
Other survivors include: one son, Gary
A. Budde of Newton; two daughters, Donna J Miller of Sacramento,
Calif., and Janet L. Bair of Newton; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; two brothers, Emil Klassen and Adolph Klassen; and one
sister, Elma Schroeder.
Funeral services will be 2 p. m.
Saturday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Revs. Verney
Unruh and Wallace Jantz officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call until 9 p. m. today
with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. today at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Central Homecare and Hospice and the mission work of Sharon Harder
TEAM Missions in care of the funeral home.
