Obituary

Betty L. Crawley, 91, passed peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday (Sept. 29, 2018). A lifelong Newton resident, Betty was born April 28, 1927, to Albert and Belle (Andrews) Roberts. Before she was 1, tragedy struck and her mother passed. Shortly after, Betty went to live with Ray and Ora Miller of Newton.

On July 24, 1945, she married the love of her life, L.L. "Bud" Crawley, in Newton. He precedes her in death. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Lee and wife Ginny of Stafford, Missouri, and Stanley Brian and wife Connie of Newton; a brother, Theron and wife Kay Roberts of Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud; three brothers, Al Roberts, Bob Roberts and Roy Roberts; and two sisters, Roberta Roberts and Hazel Mann.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2018) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation before the service from 9 to 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
